The SUN in all its splendor! Sun is warmth, light "no hiding", the brightness of all, the shininess of it can do to other planets and stars. What's done under the Sun can never be denied, in full light! Sun is also peace, gentleness, softness, to me the SUN.
The Moon... she's moody and pulls the tides... she controls the mood and lights the night when there is no other night. She can be nearly as bright as the Sun, during full moon and nearly dark in can't separate the three to say which I relate to most, because they are all three essential to life. The sun for warming, the moon for seasons, and the earth for obvious reasons. The three have nothing whatever to do with gender in spite of what Plato had to say on the subject. the waning crescent with only a sliver of lighthanks.
A Ring Around The Moon
The ring around the Moon is caused by the refraction of Moonlight (which of course is reflected sunlight) from ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. The shape of the ice crystals results in a focusing of the light into a ring. Since the ice crystals typically have the same shape, namely a hexagonal shape, the Moon ring is almost always the same size.
Less typical are the halos that may be produced by different angles in the crystals. They can create halos with an angle of 46 degrees.
